Job Responsibilities
- Analyze workplace processes, equipment, and environments to identify potential hazards and assess associated risks, with an emphasis on ergonomics
- Develop and implement safety procedures, policies, and standards to prevent accidents and injuries, including Process Safety Management/Risk Management Programs
- Create and deliver training programs to employees and management on safety procedures, emergency protocols, and regulatory compliance, including Lockout/Tagout programs
- Conduct regular inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and processes to ensure compliance with safety regulations and best practices
- Identify potential hazards associated with job functions and equipment, then present and implement corrective actions
- Participate in accident and incident investigations to determine root causes and develop corrective actions to prevent recurrence
- Stay informed of changes to OSHA and EPA regulations impacting the facility
- Present solutions for maintaining or achieving compliance with regulatory requirements
- Contribute to the design and selection of safe equipment and systems, including Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Evaluate new equipment for safety requirements, such as machine guarding and interlocks
- Communicate safety information effectively to all levels of the organization
- Collaborate with plant engineers, maintenance, and technical specialists on safety initiatives
- Maintain records as required by policy, practice, and procedures
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds over your head
- Climbing into and under equipment
- Frequently climbing stairs, ladders, and using cross-overs
- Bachelor's degree
- Experience with Lockout/Tagout, machine guarding, workstation design
- Experience with PSM/RMP programs preferred
- Minimum 2-5 years experience in an industrial setting
- Firm understanding of OSHA General Industry standards. Familiarity with EPA standards a plus
- Experience with incident investigation and root cause analysis techniques (5-why, Fishbone, FMEA) highly desired.
- Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to explain complex safety concepts and instructions to diverse audiences
- Detail-oriented mindset committed to excellence and continuous improvement

The hourly rate for this position is anticipated between $38.46 - $38.46 per hour.
This range is a good-faith estimate, based on the shift you work and other considerations permitted by law.
