Description
The Facilities Maintenance Associate (Buildings & Grounds) is responsible for maintaining the reliability, safety, and condition of the plants infrastructure and non-production systems. This role operates with an equipment owner mindset, taking ownership of assigned facility areas to proactively identify, prevent, and correct abnormalities.
This position goes beyond basic upkeep and requires a hands-on associate who can support preventive maintenance, minor repairs, and continuous improvement efforts within a food manufacturing environment.

Job Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspection and maintenance of facility infrastructure (doors, dock equipment, lighting, walls, drains, support systems).
- Execute minor repairs including mechanical, electrical (basic), and structural upkeep.
- Support preventive maintenance activities across building systems.
- Identify and escalate abnormal conditions, deterioration, or potential failures.
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping in maintenance and facility areas.
- Operate and maintain basic maintenance tools and equipment safely.
- Support TPM initiatives by owning assigned areas and driving improvements in condition and reliability.
- Responsible for all aspects of facility maintenance to include repairs and painting when required.
- Prior experience in maintenance, facilities, or technical support preferred.
- Strong mechanical aptitude with ability to troubleshoot basic issues.
- Comfortable working in a regulated food manufacturing environment (GMPs, safety standards).
- Self-driven, reliable, and able to take ownership of assigned areas.
- Ability to work both independently and cross-functionally with maintenance and operations teams.
- Basic electrical experience is a plus.
- Must be able to regularly lift and or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and or move 50 pounds.
- Must be able to work around electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic and thermodynamic equipment safely.
- Must be able to work on ladders, scissor lifts, scaffolding and other high precarious places safely and effectively.
- Must be able to work in engine rooms where heat and noise are present.
